General Digital is pleased to announce that they are taking orders for the third generation of the venerable GenStar™ product line, introduced in 1998. The newest GenStar sunlight readable LCD monitor is dimensionally the same size as the GenStar II™, but features LED backlighting, which has numerous benefits compared to CCFL-type backlights:
– Lower power consumption
– Lower heat emission
– Lower operating temperature, will operate at -40° C
– Lower voltage, which allows operation at high altitudes
– Lower IR signature bodes well in NVIS (Night Vision Imaging System) applications
– Longer life
– More robust for rugged environments
Also available will be the GenStar III Lite™, which will be configured without components the end user would not utilize.
